Gene Kim joined MUHANN Patent and Law Firm as a senior partner in January, 2015 from Kim & Chang where he was a senior patent attorney in the Trademark and Design Practice Group for more than 10 years.  He was promoted to managing partner at MUHANN in April, 2017.




From the time Mr. Kim started to practice in 2004 until now after working for the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) where he acted as Chief Administrative Trademark Judge and Director General of the Korean Intellectual Property Tribunal (KIPT), he has consistently been named as a leading trademark attorney in Korea by International Who’s Who Legal up to 2016.  Among his many other accomplishments, in 2010, he was awarded the diploma and medal entitled "Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana" (Knight of the Order of the Star of Solidarity) by President Giorgio Napolitano for his contributions to the protection of IPRs of Italian enterprises in Korea.




Gene Kim has extensive experience in litigation, enforcement, and dispute resolution involving IP Issues, specializes in trademark and design matters, and provides strategic planning and sound business advice relating to all aspects of trademark and design laws.
