Mr. Kim is a registered patent attorney with expertise in mechanical engineering.

 

He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). During his undergraduate studies, he focused on mechanical design, control systems engineering, and mechanical vibration projects.

 

Since joining MUHANN, Mr. Kim has been responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to a diverse range of technologies, including walking assistance robots, surgical robots, smartphones, home appliances, automotive technologies, defense technologies, semiconductor manufacturing systems, and optic devices. He has also prepared opinions regarding possible infringements and the validity of patents.

 

Prior to joining MUHANN, Mr. Kim worked for another Korean law firm, where he prepared and filed patent applications on behalf of LG Electronics, LS Industries, and other large organizations. Before transferring to the previous firm, Mr. Kim served as a patent prior art researcher for a patent search and analysis company.

 

Mr. Kim also served as a member of the IP team at a global auto parts manufacturing company for several years. During that time, he focused on patent infringement disputes, litigation, and counseling, gaining experience in various corporate matters, including warranty and indemnification cases, IP contract review, and industrial property dispute mediation.
